CACTUS

MEXICAN FENCE POST CACTUS

Mexican fence post cactus (Pachycereus marginatus) can grow up to 4m-5m in height & around 8cm-20cm in diameter. This showy columnar cactus has upright growth that is actually used as a living fence in Mexico and other regions where it grows well.

TIP - Plant it near a brightly coloUred wall for a dramatic effect or in pots with native flowers.

DESERT STYLE 

CURVE LEAF YUCCA

Curve Leaf Yucca (Yucca gloriosa var. tristis) are related to the Agave family & are really low maintenance, as long as their soil can drain. 

They can be used in both a desert & a tropical landscape, and they compliment every garden. 

TIP - Yucca's can be lopped & replanted when they start to get too tall.

TROPICAL 

GIANT BIRD OF PARADISE

Giant Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia Nicolai) is a tropical plant that is known for its large banana-like leaves. It is a clumping style plant that shoots multiple stems from the one base. Its stems can reach as high as 6m. 

TIP - This plant is versatile & can be used as a tall screening plant or can be pruned & groomed to remain smaller.
